Welcome to oss4zos.org, the unofficial home of open source software projects for z/OS. z/OS is IBM's flagship operating system for its System z mainframe computers. z/OS includes UNIX System Services, a certified implementation of the UNIX operating system. z/OS also fully supports Java™. UNIX™ and Java support provide a strong foundation for popular open source software products, and many are already available for z/OS.
This site serves two primary purposes: helping z/OS users locate open source software and information, and fostering greater community education and support to bring more open source software projects to z/OS.
